Topper Organic Garden

Topper Organic Garden

Topper Worldwide is proud to announce it’s very first Organic Vegetable garden here at the office. As everyday passes, the garden grows, providing employees with fruits and vegetables for their families and friends. Employees themselves built and raised the plant beds, filled them with soil, planted seedling and seeds and watered and harvested the crops. You want to know what is most impressive? None of our employees had any idea how to garden before this which has helped evolve this into an extremely effective team-building project.

Wondering if you should start your own garden but thinking “what’s the point?” Well, we have quite a few for you.

1. Save money on groceries.

Although you do need to pay for the seedlings and pay your time to grow these vegetables you ultimately can save a huge chunk of money when grocery shopping, all while knowing your fruits and veggies are pesticide-free and totally organic.

2. Reduce your environmental impact.

Backyard gardening helps the planet in many ways. If you grow your food organically, without pesticides and herbicides, you’ll spare the earth the burden of unnecessary air and water pollution, for example. You’ll also reduce the use of fossil fuels and the resulting pollution that comes from the transport of fresh produce from all over the world (in planes and refrigerated trucks) to your supermarket.

3. Build a sense of pride.

Watching a seed blossom under your care to become food on your and your family’s plates (or companies!) is gratifying. Growing your own food is one of the most purposeful and important things a human can do—it’s work that directly helps you thrive, nourish your family, and maintain your health. Caring for your plants and waiting as they blossom and “fruit” before your eyes is an amazing sense of accomplishment!

Apps To Boost Productivity

Staying productive and organized in your work life doesn’t always have to involve extensive softwares on your laptop. Both iOS and Androids have some of the best applications to help keep your organized and productive, all the time. See here for a couple of our favorites.

Word, Excel & Powerpoint

All three are vital parts of work life from presentations, reports and data analysis and unfortunately, you can’t always get to your laptop. Designed to provide maximum file compatibility with their desktop versions while modifying the interface for touchscreen devices, each of the three apps allows users to view and edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations respectively. Cloud support for services such as OneDrive, Drive and Dropbox make for easy sharing and collaboration. While the free tier is okay for basic viewing and editing, you’ll get the most out of the apps with an Office 365 subscription.

Trello

If bulletin boards are your thing.. Trello will blow your mind. Trello is a highly customizable digital bulletin board that you can use to set up anything from to do lists, tasks, notes and more. Users create “lists”, which are dynamic containers that can be filled with “cards.” These can be anything from tasks, notes, ideas, pictures and more, that users can then drag and drop up and down the line, or move to other lists. All of this can be shared with other users, with provisions for creating new cards, adding comments, and assigning tasks.

Slack

If you’re team is too large for a group chat, Slack is a great alternative. Slack takes conventional instant messaging a step further to make a more useful group messaging and coordination tool. Slack covers your IM basics with real-time messaging synced across devices. It also supports file sharing, direct and group messaging tools. In addition, the app features a system of chat channels, allowing you to quickly set up subgroups for task or topic-oriented discussions. Need to make yourself a note? Slack allows you to start a chat with yourself, just in case you need to set up some self-reminders.

Dropbox

Dropbox.. the bane of some existence, but without a doubt one of the most useful tools a business can utilize. Dropbox is an online storage lockers for all things images, documents, presentations and anything else you would need to save to the cloud. Even better, you can add more people onto your account and completely customize which parts of your dropbox they see. Privacy and convenience make this one of the most important apps you can utilize while running a business.

We hope after reading this that you have some insight on some new, or even existing, programs that can help run your office or business more effectively and more than anything, more productively.

Best Museums in Atlanta

Looking to escape the heat this weekend? Why not hit one of Atlanta’s many amazing museums. See here for a couple of our favorites.

World of Coca-Cola

One of the biggest name in the soda-pop game has its world famous museum right here in Atlanta, The World of Coca Cola. Being primarily one of the most family-friendly museums on our list, you’ll have the opportunity to explore over 60,000 square feet of pure history. You can expect a tasting room, behind-the-scenes look at the bottling process and even a 4D theater! The tasting room includes over 100 beverages from around the world, and the kiddies will even have the chance to take a photo with the Coca Cola Polar Bear.

Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site

With the family, or alone, a visit to the Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Non-Violent Social Change is worth the time. Honoring Dr. King’s life, the center reflects love, justice and peace. Both Dr. and Mrs. King’s remains are housed in a crypt on the grounds, with an eternal flame. Freedom Hall houses a foyer displaying African art and exhibits paying homage to Rosa, Parks, Mahatma Gandhi and the Kings. In addition to visiting the center, visitors can tour Dr. King’s birth home, which is located in the Sweet Auburn district. A park ranger leads the tour. Also in the area are Ebenezer Church, where Dr. King preached and Firestation No.6, where King played as a boy.

College Football Hall of Fame

Perfect for the boys weekend, or even bachelor party, is the College Football Hall of Fame. Feel the excitement and spirit of college football fanfare from the moment you step inside the football-shaped building. Your ticket includes high-tech RFID credentials. This microchip-enabled ticket personalizes your museum experience. You see stats, photos and intel about your favorite college football team displayed on walls and kiosks as you wind your way through the exhibits. It also allows you to show off your football experience with friends. Once home, log onto the website to retrieve photos and videos from your visit, such as your ESPN call of the game or your fight-song karaoke tune. The big draw for many visitors is the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Skill Zone. Kick a field goal, run through a training course, or take the quarterback challenge. After that, make your way to the Game Day Theater, where the energy of college football comes to life.

Whether visiting one, or visiting all, make your weekend a little bit more special by adding a premier transportation service like Topper Limousine to take you from museum to museum.
