The Best New Year’s Resolution: Don’t Drink and Drive!The holiday season is everyone’s favorite time of the year. There is plenty of celebrating, and alcohol involved, from beer and wine to cocktails and shots. With the party season comes the inevitable increase in drinking and driving and the danger drunk drivers impose on the road. Each holiday season, the newspaper headlines are depressingly similar with an increase in automobile accidents and fatalities due to drunk drivers.
According to MADD, “each year nationally, more than 1,000 typically die during Thanksgiving to New Year’s in drunk driving crashes.” Be more responsible in regards to drinking and driving because you are not just endangering your life, but you’re endangering other people's lives too.
DUI’s are at an all time high and law enforcement will be out in full force for New Year’s Eve. There will also be an increase in random roadblocks and DUI checkpoints throughout the holiday season. Don’t drink & drive! Why risk getting a DUI and taking a ride down to the local precinct? It can, and will, cost you your license, jail time, thousands of dollars and your life.
Although it is in each individual’s best interest to drink responsibly, holiday party hosts, family and friends should also take into consideration how everyone is going to get home safely after a night of celebrating.

Planning is key to being a safe driver throughout the holidays, or any time for that matter.
